Providence is officially open.
Praise God! The Providence House at Cupcui just opened and we welcomed home dozens of the most incredible children you have ever met! I am just starting to hear the horrors they have endured in the months since the state turned them out, leaving them with relatives who had no means or ability to offer even basic care. Some of these children were beaten. Others were sexually abused. Almost all of them had little to eat and were forced to do hard labor. These are children! They are three, five, and ten years old. How could anyone do this to any child, much less his or her own flesh and blood? Now they are MY CHILDREN. They are YOUR CHILDREN.
Together we have created a home that you would be comfortable with your own children and grandchildren living in. We have a heating system that will never allow these children to go to bed cold—no orphan will ever freeze to death in this building again. They will have good meals every day, their own beds, and warm clothes every day.
To all who have been a part of this, I want to thank you for your help. I could not have done this without you. In the next few days I hope to post a full report of the opening, with photos of the children and a few of their personal stories. Look for it, will you? The work is far from over, though. We desperately need your support to keep this new home open and operating. A gift of $41.66 will help pay for one hour of running the orphans’ home! Every gift of $333 pays for eight hours. P.S. Look for a new launch of the ministry as we rebrand to “Stella’s Voice.” As you may know, Stella was once a girl at the Cupcui orphanage. I loved her like my own daughter and when I found out she was gone and had died of HIV, it broke my heart. It started Stella’s House. And now we have made her old home new. I need you to be Stella’s Voice with me. More to come later!
