Loaves and fishes
The young boy sat crossed legged at the front of the huge crowd. He had worked his way to the front as only a kid could do. Like any other kid, he wanted to see what all the fuss was about. Earlier that day, his mom had given him a pack lunch and sent him away to see the man that was causing so much stir as he went around the countryside preaching and healing the sick.
He was getting hungry. It was time to eat. He was unaware of the crisis unfolding a few feet away. Jesus had just told his disciples to feed the crowd that had followed him to this remote place. He untied the corners of the cloth and smoothed it out on the grass... There were five small barley loaves and two small fish. The loaves were the poor man's bread, rough and hard.. The fish were small and bony. Just as the lad was about to eat the most famous meal of all time -- a meal that would build a million churches... countless hospitals ... orphanages in every corner of the world... the meal that would be prayed about over millions of offerings to God : "multiply these gifts as you did the loaves and fishes" -- Andrew stopped him. Instantly, he became part of a miracle we still speak of today. DON'T eat what is destined to be multiplied!! If he had eaten his little meal, he and his mom would have been the only people alive who would have known about the loaves and fishes!! Let me ask you a question: How many meals have you eaten that God had planned to multiply?
